Uche Ignites Straightforward Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.

Despite entering their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing key figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a commanding win that all but secures them a place in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS ought to be sufficient to seal straight passage to the last 16, particularly after a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Squad Members Grasp the Opportunity

This match provided a platform for several Palace's lesser-used players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after joining on loan from Getafe, notched the scoring with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.

The Shelbourne team that had concluded their league season were outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the news that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

Pino Seals the Contest

The contest was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a second-half knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
